Re: Elections and Membership in ldraw.org

(...) That's not a bad idea, but it leads to the point that someone (or someones) will have to accept the dues, track the moneys, pay the bill(s). So we'll need a treasurer right away. LDraw.org is an international thing, so there could be fees for (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Ldraw.Org Spec 1.0.0 Page

(...) I'm not sure about the 'into one document' part, but I'll agree with the rest. More basically, we've got a number of different 'flavors' of the LDraw language floating around. I think it would be most useful to have one or more documents that (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC) Draft Proposal

In lugnet.cad.dev, Wayne Gramlich wrote: [snip] (...) I think this sounds like an effective check on 'committees gone wild'. I would definitely support implementation of this process. Steve (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: More information on LEGO Digital Designer and other things

Hi Jake, (...) Any comment of the part of that old quote that said the designer could "then order the appropriate number and type of bricks" to build the model they have drawn? Just-a-wonderin', -Hendonator (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.lego.direct)

Timeframe for Next Parts Update (was Re: LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC) Draft Proposal)

(...) It would be better to say they are approximately every two months. I'll start working on 2003-02 sometime after I've got the PT back online, and I've got some time for it. I think it's going to be two weeks before I can get to it. Steve (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Bionicle Masks

(...) In a case like this, where the parts are relatively unlikely to be modeled for LDraw, I think users would be willing to take what they can get. *If* I have time, I'd be willing to work on 'cleaning up' one or more of the files you create. If (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Moving LDraw.org permanently to Peeron?

(...) I think it's a good idea. I'm hoping Munin will be more stable now that it's been refreshed, but having a more accessible box is a very good thing. Steve (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: More information on LEGO Digital Designer and other things

(...) Yay! (...) Obviously the LEGO-supplied LXF parts will have some restrictions. Do you also mean that homebrew LXF parts would also have restrictions? AFAIK, if I create my own part in LDraw .DAT format, I can sell it. I just can't sell parts I (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.lego.direct)

More information on LEGO Digital Designer and other things

Wow! What a week for LEGO CAD! LPub going open source, another Java viewer underway, a Mac editor hits alpha, new version of LD4D, the LSC, MLCad on Linux, all this Digital Designers stuff... and I know I am missing something! Sorry for the delay in (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.lego.direct) !!

  Re: New Parts Category? Sport?

(...) The only reason I included the holders and the bricks is that their primary use is for sports models. Pretty much any piece out of this line could be used outside the sports line (except the balls). Just thinking off the top of my head, the (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
