Re: Ropes, Flex Tubes, Rubber Bands, et. al.

Hi Shaun, I have written a program called lsynth, which does many bendable things like: flex-system hoses, pneumatic hoses, flexibe axles, ribbed hose, electric and fiber optic cables. The program is called LSynth and is available (URL) I'm also (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Ropes, Flex Tubes, Rubber Bands, et. al.

Hi All, I've been working diligently on LDrawing my Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Engine ((URL) and am finally running up against the seemingly impossible: Is there a way to modify pieces so that they bend and curve? So far, I've replaced bent flex-tubing with (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: New primitive box3-2.dat (was Re: What's up with box3#8.dat?)

(...) I'll have patience. These dull and rainy holidays in the Netherlands are ideal to do some part authoring ;-) Yes I have families to consider, too. My grandparents celebrated their 84th and 85th birthdays. And I could borrow some old parts my (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Large red train wheels

Thanks for the information. In general when a part seems to be just a scaled version of another, is a new part made or is the existing one just included by a new dat file and scaled appropriately? Thanks! Karl (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New primitive box3-2.dat (was Re: What's up with box3#8.dat?)

Chris, I'm alright with the 'u' convention. It'd be wicked cool if someone sat down and figured out all the possible box configurations (there can't be *that* many of them), so we could have a clearer idea of what we're trying to describe. Then (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Large red train wheels

(...) I don't think that part has been modeled yet. :\ Steve (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Wheel axles

(...) It looks like 35b has lines drawn where notches might belong. I don't have this part, so I don't know what it is *supposed* to look like. 35b does not fit current conventions, but I'm willing to ignore that, since it's an existing part. More (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Brownish Transparent

(...) Your best bet is probably to use direct colors instead of the regular LDraw color codes. That way, you can specify the RGB values in your model files. If you are using LDLite, you can use the 0 COLOR metastatement to define your own color (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New primitive box3-2.dat (was Re: What's up with box3#8.dat?)

(...) Patience please - it's the holiday season and some of us have families to consider. I was hoping to get more replies to (URL) I explained the naming convention as currently implemented. So, if no-one is bothered, I'll change box3#8p.dat to (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Excellent rendering with MegaPov 0.7 (long post)

Hi all, Since the code for photorealistic pictures where released (see (URL) a lot of people have been experimenting with it.   Large red train wheels

Is there an official ldraw part for the large red train wheels such as those at (URL) ? To date I have bren using 4180.DAT scaled evenly by 1.3. Thanks, Karl (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Wheel axles

When I first rendered a wheel with axle, I noticed that the axle was missing the notch. The existing axle has partnumber 35b.dat. Should I update this part (is 35b a valid partnumber to the new naming conventions?) with a notch or do I have to (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)

New primitive box3-2.dat (was Re: What's up with box3#8.dat?)

Still no answer on the box primitive naming conventions. For my spoked wheels I needed a new primitive, like the box3#8.dat but with all adjecent edges. I named it box3-2.dat (Box, 3 faces drawn, 2 edges left out), but how should I name it so I can (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Brownish Transparent

(...) In MLCad: color 47 is transparent white, color 39 is transparent light gray. Niels (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Brownish Transparent

(...) Not an answer to your question, but... In the old days when I used LDraw, I used to use LDraw colour 47 for newer clear parts and 39 for the older. :o) /Tore (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Brownish Transparent

Old Lego often changed color (due to aging etc.) I have some parts from the late fifties that look more cream than white and the transparent parts (used to be clear) are a bit brownish. Are there matching colorvalues for MLCad and POV to let the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad)
