  Re: Sand Red Bricks

(...) So far, no one has set color codes for the newer colors. You should try different colors, and use one you like. Some you might try: 12 - this is light-red (or salmon) in LDraw, LDLite, and MLCAD. It's supposed to be a color out of Scala, but (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Sand Red Bricks

Has anybody figured out exactly what color "sand red" is in terms of using the bricks in a CAD model. I'd like to incorporate sand red into my model but i dont know the exact color to enter into the CAD program. If anybody could help me out, that (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: ldraw.org MOTM & SOTM Winners for September 2001

If anyone is having difficulty getting the .dat files for the Liquid Cathedral working, then contact me. There is apparently some confusion over the fiendishly difficult installation of files necessary for part 6002 (which is the Paradisa 1/4 dome). (...)   Re: Smooth surfaces

My thought was that the smoothing could be turned on and off, as appropriate. That would require metastatements in the parts files. Extra metastatements will slow down processing, but not by very much. They will also increase file size, but again, (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Minifig animation

Verry nice! it amazes me how you can get the arms, legs, doors etc.. to move at once. do you render directly to MPEG or us a bmp compiler[1]?AVI converter? I've got a few (5) animations to show and they turn out to be 30= megs each as AVIs. anyway, (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Personal LEGO CD-R

You can disable autorun on windows. You have to download the TweakUI program from MS and it has an option to disable that (plus a bunch of other nice stuff). Leonardo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tore Eriksson" (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Minifig animation

(...) Thanks! Since the minifigs only have one leg joint, the only way they can actually walk is by shifting the weight of their body. So I made him bob sideways while walking. I think it gives him a bit more character, as well as actually being (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Minifig animation

Cool, really cool! I never thought of making the minifig lean to and fro from left to right while walking. The test animation I recently made is 1.4 seconds at 14 fps and yet 470 kb, so I think I have to increase compression rate after all. Sigh. (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Minifig animation

With all the recent talk about minifig animations, I decided to make my own. I my own way, of course! (URL) 500Kb, MPEG-1, 10 seconds at 24 fps. You don't need any new codecs to see it, Tore, but you will complain about the compression. ;-) Fredrik (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Complete hack and mockup...  [DAT]

I've used the fingers from John VanZwiten's 30365.dat and the Technic bush to create this part. I don't know the name of it, but I found it in kit 1357, the Cameraman kit in the Studio's line.
