Minifig Head with Darth Maul pattern - 3626bpDM.dat  [DAT]

I've finally completed the head apart from optional lines, I wanted to post it here so it can be reviewed before I add the final touches. POV renders at 800x600 have been posted at (URL) if you don't want to render it yourself :) LMKWYT. Dan 0 (...) (24 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: L3P/POV and decimal places in DAT coords

"seams" like you have a problem :-) Open maulph4.dat in L3Lab, zoom to 800 %, select View/Seams (or click on the toolbar button with two yellow bricks) Voila! You have met with L3P/L3Lab (and LDView)'s (normally fair) assumption that any file from (...) (24 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: LDraw meeting at Brickfest 2001 - Interest?

I'm hoping maybe we can settle into one of the classrooms upstairs and play/work in little groups on assorted concepts involved (I personally am interested in POVing LCAD stuff). I (...) To demonstrate the problem I have I've uploaded some pictures to BrickShelf at (URL) shows the part in MLCad and there are no gaps visible. problem_mlcad2.jpg shows the face and subpart meeting at high zoom, again no gap. problem_pov1.jpg shows a (...) (24 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

L3P/POV and decimal places in DAT coords

While trying to complete my Darth Maul head I've noticed that the face polygons I've been adding don't quite meet the 3626bs01 subpart at the edges despite me copying the coords from the 3626bp01 part for the corners of these polygons. The gap is (...) (24 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  May 2001 ldraw.org MOTM voting

Here goes, Voting is up an running for the May MOTM. (URL) models have been rendered in Bryce. Bryce looks a little different from POV-Ray - sort of another philosophy on the idea of "photo-realistic".   Re: Reiterate: How to make a squish matrix?

Re: Reiterate: How to make a squish matrix?

that shouldn't be too hard either. just operate the matrix on the points alone. if your cilinder has it's axle around the Y axle. L is the length of the cilinder and if it starts at 0 0 0 you could use (1-y/L) 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 (1-y/L) this would turn (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

A question on making movies on a low resolution

Re: Reiterate: How to make a squish matrix?

(...) Yes, but it's not what Sproat needs. He needs to scale X and Z as a function of Y. Something like: x' = xy Which is something transform matrices cannot do. Steve (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: idea for a new version
