  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

Yes, it exists! You could find a windows utility, created by Paulo Caparica, that converts .DAT in .DXF in this site: (URL) .DXF to .DAT: I think thats is very difficult to do such utility. zanette. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Speaking of which is there a need for an update to the Mac binary for Ldglite? I'm not *totally* absorbed by BrickDraw3D. +++ BrickDraw3D will become a full-fledged editor application in the coming months. I'm preparing it for Mac OS X too. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

(...) I think the difficulty would be in the substitution of DAT primitives after the translation is complete. Otherwise, every part drawn with AutoCAD would have individually drawn studs and such. It's a nice dream though. I know that I don't have (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

Thanks Duane. You'd think if a utility can be written to convert in one direction, you could write one to go the other way as well....hmmmm dare I take time away from trains to learn that much about .DAT files? I don't know. jt (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  DAT to AutoCAD?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I couldn't find a FAQ for the CAD group. I was wondering if there is a utility that allows .DAT files to be converted to AutoCAD (i.e. DXF)? Also is there such a utility that allows the reverse to happen? (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Please don't quit. I hate being negative about my future, but I doubt the mac will get much attention from TLG. Especially with OS X. LDGLite is one of two choices for the mac (the other being BrickDraw3D). James (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New Part - 3837 Minifig Shovel

(...) Looks nice. I'm not sure whether I should even mention this, but... Using the primitives means the optional lines from the connic portion of the shaft extend into the blade of the shovel.   Re: Concerning first meeting of the LDraw group...

(...) Not quite at that stage. Nobody appointed me, but I took notes anyway... now that I've had some sleep finally I want to share those. But I've got to go to my day job too. -Erik (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Concerning first meeting of the LDraw group...

I refer (of course) to the meeting the Ldraw group had on the 11th Feb not the CAD summit with LD... Any chance of the miniutes being put out? (or is it not at that stage yet?) Alex (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Would someone build me.........?

Hi all, I was wondering if someone would build me a very high torque transmission? It only needs 2 drive positions, forward and reverse(plus neutral). Well, not being under an NDA (and TLC knows my opinons have never been so subtle that they had to have me over to breakfast to know what I was thinking), there are some obvious things. They need to find a way to squash LDRAW and the DAT format (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)
