I've tried connecting to www.ldraw.org for several hours now, and I've consistently gotten the "No response - server may be down" error message! I've tried clicking on a link (for the 2000-02 parts update vote), another link (going to the domain (...) (24 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

I wouldn't think it's a good idea since this would confuse people. If you drag then drop it at a certain place then goes to a different location?! (...) I think Not, MPD won't act as a virtual direcotry, since you can only use it to represent the model contained within it, not several, unless they all are part of a larger model, (same tree root) i.e. the first file included in the MPD. See ya (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

(...) :-, Yah, on some extremely well-used torso pieces. ;-) I was just thinking along the lines that, very few "core" LDraw parts have patterns -- the typical action is to make an unmarked part first, then refer to that unmarked part in a different (...)
