That is absolutely stunning. This is the coolest thing I've seen so far this year, lego or otherwise. Great idea for a subject matter too - cool and functional. Here's my latest project, which I've been working on for two months now. It's a large scale mosaic of a map of the United States of America. the reasoning behind building this was I wanted to bring it to the various fests, and allow people to place (...) Like last year, there will be a panel at BricksWest for sculptures. I am organizing it, and would like to invite LEGO sculptors from around the world to participate. I finally finished my JangoFett sculpture knockoffs of the custom one that the Lego company put up on Ebay last month. (...) The helmet isn't quite as sturdy as the 3723 hat, but it's pretty sturdy. I've put it on and taken it off a few times, but only once were there any problems. Very nice, Andrew! Much better than 3723. Your standard smiley face is right on whereas the other one has a huge mouth and the eyes are not quite right. Your spear is most impressive. Hi all ! I received both "famous planes" from S&H. The are very cool. I guess that the next "famous plane" set should be the Supermarine Spitfire. Hi Eric, My confusion arises from trying to reconcile this: (URL) this: (URL) first one seems to indicate that we are viewing the sides of tiles, plates and bricks. Ok, given how nasty this stuff is, is there anything else you recommend that isn't so nasty? Hi Will! When I was at Legoland, I was so surprised to learn that they used MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) as a "glue"! I used to use MEK to clean the screens used in silkscreen printing. We were at Legoland CA over the weekend... The main cables ARE made from 2x2 round bricks, and the vertical cables use 1x1 round bricks. I have a better idea. The real tower has two elevators to travel to the first story. If you were to build these you could possibly put some extra supports inside and remove the white bricks. This will be on display at the Festival of Trees, an event run by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta... James Trobough and the NGLTC will also be participating... I built in a few technic beams with the idea of using pins. However, the pins alone would not supported the 40+ pounds of LEGO above it, so the pillar was necessary.
