Matthias, that's one lovely DD.  I especially like the way the 5"
mounts turned out, and the way you've captured the color scheme.
The stacks also came out extremely nicely.  The whole thing is
very, very, very well done.  The silhouette in the 3/4 aft view
(the "blurred" sepia one) is incredibly nice, and very faithful
to the original.  By the way, the ship's boats are a hoot--I love
'em!  The foremast is also wonderfully inventive in its use of
basic pieces to achieve the whole christmas-tree effect.

My only suggestion would be for you to consider going back and
rendering the forward hull as SNOT--pixellation is the only thing
that detracts from such a dashing ship.  I don't know, however,
if you have enough grey tile to avoid the pain in the keester
that would be plating the whole side studs-out.

But wow, is that ever nice!

Thank you Lindsay for taking kind interest in my model. To hear experienced
Logo fans comment on your creations is always something extra.

I agree that the forward hull is a weak part of my model. I will try to
rebuild it either by SNOT and tiles as you suggest or by half stud
increments. The problem is that the bow curves in more then one dimension.
The upward curved flush deck which is so characteristic of the Fletchers
complicates a smooth modelling of the sides.

The ships boats were not easy to model as they are so small (2x6 studs) glad
you like my simple try. In a few days you will be able to sea Ldraw pictures
of more details of the destroyer.

I hope to see more ship models on Brickshelf in the near future. My Fletcher
needs company ;)
