Hi

You can now see some pictures of my US W.W.II Fletcher Class Destroyer at my
Brickshelf gallery. It is in scale 1 stud to 1 meter which means 1:125. The
ship is therefore 115 studs long and 12 studs wide.

Mostly it is a straight forward construction without to much SNOT (I have
nothing against SNOT). A crucial part for the twin AA-guns is  the Minifig
Tool Binoculars Town' (30162) A difficult part of the ship to model is the
life rafts. I used the Tyre 17 x 43' (3634) with inserted 1x2 plates.

The Fletcher Class was built in great number during W.W.II an existed in
many versions after the war, so it is possible the create variants of my
model. The ship that you can see now is from around 1944 with 5 twin 40 mm
Bofors AA-guns.

The silhouette in the 3/4 aft view (the "blurred" sepia one) is incredibly nice, and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) Mattias, What a great model. The scale is unusual too, I don't see too many people model that scale. Thanks! George (23 years ago, 9-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)
