My only suggestion would be for you to consider going back and
rendering the forward hull as SNOT--pixellation is the only thing
that detracts from such a dashing ship.  I don't know, however,
if you have enough grey tile to avoid the pain in the keester
that would be plating the whole side studs-out.

Speaking of which, how do you plot/plan the sweep of the hull?  I've done
some practice bits but I can never approximate the curves well; they always
come out somewhere between a basic parabola and a basic V.  What's the
secret?  Or do you just look at a hull plan and build to match?

   Hi, Demanding Dave!  ;)

Really, I plan out the curve on the carpet, and build to match.
But there's also some smoothing involved, making sure that there's
some kind of relationship between the angle and the rate of change.
I'm hoping to get into frame-by-frame construction, but that hasn't
   happened just yet.

I think the HMAS Australia prow pattern Richard showed off a few
   months back is a similar concept--a proxy frame.  I don't use a
frame, but I do render something to follow before I go whole-hog.

   best

(...) Hey, that reminds me ... Actually, I've been working on frame-by-frame construction for my S-boat. I've completed the 20 main ribs, and am in the process of flushing out the contours between them. It's actually pretty satisfying, given that (...)
