  Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update

Aw, shucks. You flatter me. Really, most of the ideas I just took straight from Gundam and implemented in Lego form... the head most obviously. A lot of the stuff just sort of developed on its own. I would start with one idea in mind, then discover (...) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Excellent job Mark, reminds me a lot of the nu-gundam (I think that's the name of it). The feet are really nice, and the shoulder mounted cannon is very cool. My own attempts with large scale mecha have convinced me to stick to smaller scale, due to (...) (25 years ago, 17-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: New Female Mecha

I set the proportions for an anime/comic book figure, not necessarily reality, though I think she has a decent hourglass figure as is. I think there are a couple of proportion problems, in that the feet are a bit too large as compared to the head, (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

<snip all the Agiel stuff (no offense Eric)> (...) How flippin' fun was it to set up Brian's mecha together? That was one of the highlights of BricksWest!!! Oh, and I was looking at the other pics on his site (he apparently takes a lot of inspiration from Gundam... me too!) and he had one where he used some ThrowBots pieces to build a skeleton. Two more excellent mechs! There seems to be a lot of great new mecha being built right now. I especially like the Siren, reminds me a lot of the Talgeese from Gundam Wing. Great design, and big too! Robotech would have to be the first. Later to become Macross, et al. Gundam does have some appeal, but just because there is so much detail. 30 story high mecha just don't really do it for me. Starblazer, Voltron, and G-force had their own (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
