I like the bulk of the torso & legs; the arms may be a little thin, but not that
bad.  on a bit off-Lego-topic is the general observation that all the
transformers i've seen here on Lugnet have used major vehicle body parts for
mech body parts; they don't just fold the shell of the vehicle onto the back of
the bot form so the bot body can be sculpted like this example of Armada's Red
Alert:

a massive part of the body is simply folded onto 'his' back revealing
sculpted/scrawny legs.  I don't like it.  a windshield here, or small panel/wing
there is o.k., just not the major body parts like that example.  I know the
original (G1) decepticon jets had both wings folded to either side of their
robot body, but the wings were relatively secondary in mass & it made for the
effect like the robot had wings too; the decepticons could fly, so it made sense
and it looked cool.

The G1 Transformers like Starscream were a heavy influence on this design.  The
way the cockpit folds, the position of the nose, and in a small way the way the
arms fold were influenced by the design of those old Transformers.  Like you
say, the new ones are crap.  Sure, they are more detailed and poseable robots,
but they're just not interesting looking, and certainly no fun to build out of
Lego.  It's a great thing that Lego builders take the care to make a proper
looking transformer :)  That, and building really thin wall body panels would be
a little tough with Lego!

anyways, cool transformer-the wings on the bot look wicked cool like the G1
tranformers too.  I'm partial to the flying/sleek ones.

Indeed I am too.  I've always loved plane-based transformers, and when I was a
kid I'd have killed for the Robotech based Skyfire/Jetfire transformer.  That
thing was AWESOME!

Thanks

Adrian

(...) absolutely! I always wanted that one too! about 1 1/2 months ago I was able to get a blue max sterling robotech reissue-it comes in a 'book' like package & was about $80 at my comic store. it came with a little pilot fig for the cockpit!
