Yet on the backs of the Republic gunship, Imperial Shuttle, AT-TE, and
several other models (I think), there are 'alternate' mecha models.
Somebody in Lego must be a mecher.

I agree with you, but still it is a shame. Perhaps they could get by with
it like a 'fantasy' theme thingy, like the bionicle and castle lines have
for weapons. Just not too bionicle... ; )

It's a good thing you positioned Megatron to the side, and not with his back to Starscream ;-) Optimus Prime looks really good, too; but I think he didn't have (...)
