Calling all Mech heads out there!

I just would like take a little poll here if you don't mind.

Sure.

I've seen alot of cool stuff out there that you've all built but I'm just
curious as to what was the first mech/mecha that really got you "hooked".
And what inspires you today?

For me it was back in 84' (?!?) and a friend of mine introduced me to
Battletech.  I looked at the big old warhammer on the front of the box and I
was done.  I since considered myself a mech designer in training...

These days?  My animals and other creatures of nature.  (humans included
:p)  I have a variety of pets and I try to mimic their shapes.  (Look at
gunslinger's legs, they came from my pet cat "Bear.")  But I got to say just
about everyone here has inspired me in some way or another.  Eric Sophie
makes me thing big, Jeremy Sproat makes me think small, Mark Sandlin keeps
reminding me that you can never have enough tool sprues, Bryce McGlone shows
me how Lego is organic, Mladen Pejic reminds me that Lego Mecha aught to
look drawn rather than built (seamless), and lastly, hardly leastly, is all
the new blood that keeps springing up.  They keep showing me how to push the
boundary of Lego to build better and better.  (usually using some piece that
none of the rest of us ever thought of...)
