Calling all Mech heads out there!

I just would like take a little poll here if you don't mind.

I've seen alot of cool stuff out there that you've all built but I'm just
curious as to what was the first mech/mecha that really got you "hooked".
And what inspires you today?

Just curious,
Jeff

(...) Gundam hands down. I've loved the designs for years. Even in my dark ages I would always think "that would be so cool made out of Lego". As for Lego designs Karim's site and Pat Justison's stuff really got me thinking. By far the one model (...) (23 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hey Guys, I first got inspired to build Robots when I was about 10 years old, I made my first robot called the Ambu Quad: (URL) the age of 18 I decided to take building with Lego serious. I thought that Lego had all the parts and pieces I needed and (...) (23 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Well, I got started after playing Mechwarrior3. After that, I began to find sites from people like Mladen Pejic, Burkhard Schlomer, and Brickshelf. I am inspired from many different sources, but the first site I saw was Lego Mechwarrior. That (...) (23 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Well speaking of mecha designs in particular, without a doubt the VF-1X series of variable mecha from Macross/Robotech completely facinated me as a child.
