Hi Eric, I guess you missed this next part which appeared in that same thread
only a couple posts later:

I missed it because I can't be bothered. Sorry.
For what ever your reasons. Do you really have to have such a poor attitude?
Dang dude.

"I'm just rambling, I guess. Lugnet in general is a pretty cliqued community, no
need to single out the Mecha builders."

Oh gee thanks. I feel better.

So sorry to disappoint you, but no criticism was directed directly at you (in
that particular post - if you want to do a search on JLug, you may find that I
have said things along the lines of "he's a prick, but he certainly can build
robots" - and you might also see the context too).

Look, what the heck did I EVER say or do to you? Nothing. Please have some
respect. I would never say things like that about you. I respect you.

I entered the Iron Mecha contest simply because I had never built a mecha
before, and I think I did okay.  Before the contest, I had never posted to
lugnet.build.mecha, and I probably won't again, since mechas aren't really my
thing.  I appreciate that someone went through all the trouble to have the
contest, and I knew I would never win.  But damn, at least one reply to my entry
post with feedback (even along the lines of "you suck, go back to building
Duplo") would have been nice.

I personnaly have not commented on anyones's entries. I am keeping a discrete
competative distance. Once the contest is over, I wanted to visit everyone's
posts and give kudos. I think all the entries are cool and I have never been so
happy to see people building Mech. Its a good thing.

I think it's kinda sad that you or anyone else would get bent out of shape by
something like this.  But shoot, JLug is a group of people who aren't interested
in taking things very seriously, and I believe that's why you didn't last very
long over there.  Well, as they say, it takes all kinds.

I understand that jlug provides a place where people can be frank if they want.
No pun intended, lol.

I also think, though hesitativly, that having an outlet in the "community" where
people can act as they wish without fear or consequence is a good thing.

By that same token, I'm sure you'd agree such a forum can be used by
malcontents. Those same people constantly bitching and moaning without trying to
make the world a better place. Sorry, but that is how I feel. I rather not be a
part of that.

That's all I really have to say on the matter at this time.

I thank you for your honesty.
Please just leave my name out of your posts, hey man, I never crossed you.
You also give rise to new bigotry and hatred. Time better spent building and
exapnding your own skills.

Either way, thanks for being upfront. I hope to make a better impression on you.
Though I feel like stepping away, I fear I won't have the chance.
