It’s been almost a year since I built my last bipedal mecha! This time around however, I have finally succeeded in creating a posable mecha without those flimsy ball-joints. The result is surprising sturdy, and can accept a variety of attachments. In the future, I will definitely take the joint ideas I used for the “Centurion” and apply them onto larger mecha.

BTW the LDraw file for the “Prowler” was completed some time ago. Anyone that is interested can find it here.

Enjoy.

Ahhh... I see you are using the plate hinges, presumably with a brick with a technic hole + friction pin? I’m not a huge fan of those small ball joints, either; but some kind of ball joint makes a good ankle joint. I’m also dissatisfied with the multiaxis click-hinges; they are to big to be useful on mecha that would be an appropriate size for them.

Anyway, it’s good to see a new biped from you. It looks nice, well balanced, very much your style. I have to agree with Chris - the brown and red in those proportions don’t work as well as, say, the brown, black and red color scheme in your Dritver (oh, wait, that was tan, not brown...)

One thing that made me almost fall out of my seat was that you used minifig legs as hands! I’ve seen you use different hand designs for almost all of your biped mecha; you even gave me the design for my Eros hands - so it was surprising to see you use this classic design. It works, though; it’s good to see a classic return (but eric will give you crap for using it, I’m sure...)

Later, Christopher

Woohoo! Finally, a biped mecha from one of my favorite builders! This model definately has your style in it. Everything from the different color scheme to the strange body proportions, to the arsenal of weaponry! I don't really find the color choice (...)
