  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Great experiment Adrian...and a successful one I might add! It rings of the pre-Transformers that I remember picking up on Florida trips. I don't know if they were Diaclone or not...I think they may have been spinoffs from the Gi-King (sp?) (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Thanks, I really enjoyed building it. Unfortunately, I'm pushing the limits of my grey hinge collection, so the next one I build (and there WILL be a next one) will have to be some other color majority. (...) The two modes did turn out (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Prototyping

(...) Me too. Check out Kotaro Ono's very cool racing team truck for an excellent example of this idea. If I had enough of those curved pieces, I'd be using it myself. (URL) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Better, I'd wager! Adrian, this is a super-fantastic transforming mech, definitely in the tradition of the Transformers and Robotech, but wholly unique. It would be an accomplishment just to have created either one or the other of the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) absolutely! I always wanted that one too! about 1 1/2 months ago I was able to get a blue max sterling robotech reissue-it comes in a 'book' like package & was about $80 at my comic store. it came with a little pilot fig for the cockpit! (URL) (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Thanks. If it wasn't for you though, I may not have even thought to build something like this for my next creation. One of the things I love about Lugnet, we're always inspiring each other, or taking ideas or themes or concepts from each (...) (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) The G1 Transformers like Starscream were a heavy influence on this design. The way the cockpit folds, the position of the nose, and in a small way the way the arms fold were influenced by the design of those old Transformers. Like you say, the (...)   Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Hi Adrian, Wow, that looks great! I'm amazed at how much detail you packed into it while keeping it at microfig scale. If I tried to get that much detail and possability into a transforming jet I think it would end up being 20-wide (just the (...) (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) I like the bulk of the torso & legs; the arms may be a little thin, but not that bad. on a bit off-Lego-topic is the general observation that all the transformers i've seen here on Lugnet have used major vehicle body parts for mech body parts; (...)   It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

Transformers, more than meets the eye... Transformers, robots in disguise. Okay, so it's not an actual for real Transformer from the TV show, but hey, it's nifty enough. Presenting for your perusal, Talisaro. (URL) by Paul D'Urbano's transformer: (...) (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha) !

Re: New Female Mecha MOC: Raresa-Meitsu

(...) Haha! too true... (even if I like Sailor Moon...) (...) Suzumehara Satsuki sent me a nice email and pointed out that Kotaro Ono had also made a version of the BlazerMate: (URL) mostly due to their slender frames and sleek design. it (...) (...)   Re: Prototyping

(...) This is really fascinating stuff, Dave! Thanks for sharing. I thinkn I'll be spending as much time checking these out as I do Paul Hartzog's "ideas" BS folder. I especially liked this idea: (URL) I can't wait to see how they've worked out in (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Prototyping

(...) Thanks Paul, but I think you're missing my reason for posting these. I'll be posting finished MOCs using many of these ideas within a few days. You see, I already know what these prototypes look like, so they won't benefit me any further by (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Prototyping

(...) [...] (...) Well, you've got some great parts ideas, and it's your call, but I'd much prefer you reveal 0% of your prototypes. Personally I want to see ideas on a finished MOC because the challenge of application brings concepts like context, (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Prototyping

I'm often asked how my latest mecha or space build went and many times I reply that it just didn't work out and that the item in question has become a prototype. Until now, I really didn't have a way to explain what thet meant. (URL) are days when (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New Female Mecha MOC: Raresa-Meitsu

sailor moon would be like 200,000,000,000,000 (2 hundred thousand billion or 2 to the 14th power) times better if they ALL were killer robots! ;-P this model rocks, i really enjoy the female mecha variants like this one, Soren's "Fatima" model, Gla (...)   Re: New mecha: Hoplite

(...) DOH! I slipped up on this one...it's AFAIAC or as far as I am concerned. Sorry about that! -Dave (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Female Mecha MOC: Raresa-Meitsu

(...) Interestin gthat you should point that out--- by now, I bet a lot of people have seen Satsuki Suzumehara's Blazer Mate: (URL) is based on the exact same creation: the Medarot Navi female bot designed by Fujioka Kenki. I find it very (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
