How do you posibly build mecha in MLCad (if thats whats you use.) I find it incredibly difficult to even build my legs in MLCad, not considrering evrything else. Can you guys give me some pointers ;)? (25 years ago, 3-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I see a lot of mecha posted here which are nicely rendered with MCad and other packages. They look absolutely fantastic - but am I the only one that it bothers that many of these designs couldn't possibly exist and stay together, stand on their own, (...) The Marauder is based on the Macross Zentraedi Officer's Battle Pod. Here's a nice pic with some good detail. Hi I use an Agfa ePhoto 1280, which is a bit dated now and has been discontinued, so it has been heavily reduced in price, so if you want one you should be able to find it within your price range at discount stores. Check out the Front Mission 3 action figures. They look far better than the wireframe things in the screenshots. They're not the most imaginative mecha designs, but I think they were aiming for making them look more functional than pretty. (...) (...) I have taken some pictures of the custom minifigs that I have. The sources of minifig parts include blacktron, explorion, rock raiders, and starwars sets. There are 4 races of minifigs that I have. Here are some pretty decent images that were done in a 3D CAD program. (URL) I may make a suggestion, I think your beginning design could use a bit of contouring. I decided to try building some realistic BattleTech models, hoping to bring my skill up to par with the designs on the Lego MechWarrior and Lego MechCommander sites. Heh. When I built the Helldog I was thinking,"wow, Mladen is going to love this." I borrowed the torso design from a Front Mission 3 mecha, and the head is inspired by the Gundam Zaku... everything else I just built 'cuz it felt right. Yesterday I (...)
