For example, did you know that you can push a headlight brick (1x1 with
recessed side stud) into two places on the underside of the sloping edge of a
slender wing (8x4 notched wing plate)?  The lip below the headlight stud just
clips around the edge of the wing.  You can then fit a plate along sloping
edges of your plated model.  Tilting hinges and headlight bricks are great for
clipping plates together for making large, lightweight hollow shapes.

I have checked this out before.  I never thought of a good use for it though.
Using click hinges instead is much easier andresults in a more robust panel.

(...) favorite (...) No, I disagree. They're fairly crude mech designs. They're all obviously designed as polygonal wireframes for the game, then the facets painted in by a comic artist. I think Lego versions would be fairly plain - although they (...) (24 years ago, 21-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)
