  Help with waist design
 
I'm working on a new mecha design which is coming along fairly well. Anyways, I have become frustrated with the 4x4 turntable part that I am using as the waist. Thanks, Ben. At first, I had designed those pods as engines, but a friend of mine said they looked like heavy LRM pods, and I thought it was a good suggestion, so I guess they're missiles now. :^) I would have liked to make the legs better-looking, (...) Hi everyone, I have finally created a small webpage for a few photos of some MOCs. Right now, everything is Mecha-based, but one of my mecha is built from Star Wars sets (which explains the post to .starwars). I plan to photo some of my spacecraft (...) Thanks Karim. Regarding the POV-Ray... tried it... didn't like it. Anyway what's wrong with regular pics? I think they are fine. Anyway, regular pics = show model, POV-Ray = show model, make things "shiny". I mean, does better picture quality (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks a lot Jeremy. This model was actually first designed on paper and then made. I'm really happy how it turned. I can't believe how much colour can make a model better; this model in real life is mostly grey, red, black which looks so-so, but (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

The "riot gun" or RBG as you guys (and gals, we can't be sexist now can we!) call it also has a little opening in the top to let the used up shells exit, this is just a detail I thought would add to the gun. Oh, and I was looking at the other pics on his site (he apparently takes a lot of inspiration from Gundam... me too!) and he had one where he used some ThrowBots pieces to build a skeleton. Man, I feel like a lego mecha factory. This makes 7 microfig scale mechs in the last two weeks! I love building these things. Well, my two best mecha so far are up on my page. Both of these are original designs, inspired by my Virtual On mech (...) (25 years ago, 28-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I'm going to do instructions for several of the mechs, but it probably won't be for a few weeks yet, I've still got several parts to model in 3d studio. I just added a new mecha to my site. The "hair" like things on the head are actually antennae for recieving messages, inspiration: Predator (movie). It also has, as Jeremey H. Two more excellent mechs! There seems to be a lot of great new mecha being built right now. I especially like the Siren, reminds me a lot of the Talgeese from Gundam Wing. Great design, and big too!
