No problem.

Anyone know of a small, inexpensive set where I can get a couple 1x1 Technic
beams? My collection is old enough that the smallest I have is
1x2. I suppose I could figure out a work-around, but I'd rather not if I can
get the 1x1.

I can't think of any small sets.  Ironically, the smallest technic beam
seems to usually come in the largest sets.  (Flying Ninja's Fortress,
for example)

See my hastily scribbled mecha blueprints at:

This reminds me alot of the way I sometimes design stuff.  I can't wait
to see the finished model.

As you can see, I am planning to use a lot of Gundam influence. I like
rocket-pods. Especially ones that open and close. Missile swarms! Yay!
The shoulder rocket-pod design I got from a character in a Dreamcast game I
saw at my friend's house. I can't remember the name of the
game, however. :^P

I'm still trying to decide on a rifle. I may decide to make a YBBG for him
to haul around. I am also going to experiment with a front-entry
cockpit.

Suggestions?

Something I haven't seen anybody do yet, and I can't do, 'cause I don't
have enough antenna/control sticks, is to use the bases of the control
sticks for the nose cones of missiles.  I think it would look very
reminiscent of the Robotech missiles coming out of a Desdroid's rocket
pods.  (I think the slots in front look like viewports for electronic
sensors.)  Just a thought.  If nobody does this, I'll do it myself when
I get enough parts.

(...) Actually, you can get at least 2 of those, IIRC, in the Blaze Attack set. I use tons of those and I think that was the best value I could find on short notice. Best of luck. Jeremiah "I'll work on my site someday, I swear!" VanderMark (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) OOOooooo.... maybe I'll try that. I seem to have quite a few of those li'l buggers in the collection back home. They seemed to include those with almost every space set back when that part was new. I only hope I have enough of the same color. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
