  New Mech Hand

This is the hand to the new mecha I'm building. It's a cop out way to use the new LOM click hinge pieces, but somebody had to do it. (URL) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

RE: New Model - "Bear" Hard Suit

(...) Ontario there's a guy who has spent most of his life making a bear-proof suit. CBC did a documentary on him some time ago. The best scene is the guy standing in the suit being hit by a large poleaxe and not being hurt at all. The idea is that (...)   Re: New Model - "Bear" Hard Suit

Thanks Mark! The colour scheme was very much accidental, like the MSP. BTW I might make a Transport for a bunch of these suits, since they seem to be quite "economical", in terms of parts needed to build each one. (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I like the mixture of red, tan, and black. ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) No, but its does have raging nanotech flea problem and for some reason is quite fond of 20 foot tall fire hydrants. Later, Todd (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

Wow Jeff. I'm gonna have to get some of those ball and socket joints. they give a more life like and flexible feel. my mech still looks kinda stiff. John (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) Way cool, Todd. Does it get more powerful during a full moon? What about a pack of 'em? Bryce (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

Cool! Me like! Very original indeed! The animal-ness is rather well done! Keep it up... --Kyle (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

RE: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) Very cool! It's nice to see completely original mecha every once in a while. What's the inside of the cockpt look like? It looks like you have enough room to do a nice detailed interior. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  My first Mech. (unfinished)

This is the first mech that I have built. I had tried earlier but my earlier attempts never got past feet and stick like legs that would colapse when I touched them. I am very happy with the legs of this mech. But I am waiting for more LEGO to (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: How to build Mechs

Not only bulky, but extremely loose fitting. You said you aren't into technic but do you have any aqua zone or arctic stuff? You can use the jointed peices with a techinic peg on one end and either two or three fingers on the other. That joint (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) I think that it might work because there are ball joints at both ends of the throwbot piece, but that can still be done (and fairly easily, really) with the new ball-with-axle-hole piece, although it begins to require a shocking amount of (...)   Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Hips are the hardest joints to make. I'd have to say shoulders are a close 2nd. Here's a link to a mech I think Eric may have been talking about: (URL) more specifically (Using three) (URL) a shoulder (Using two) (URL)All of that said... if (...) I read in another post that you said the hip joints are the biggest problem spot- I know that some folks that use Throwbot parts for the hips have used double ball joints- that (...)   Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Thanks! The pose was accidental, it just happened to be the most stable 'action' pose that I could get (mecha standing at attention are not very interesting, although that's the pose I used for the cockpit shot - not that you can tell), and it (...)
