Right-o.  Made a couple of changes, took a bunch more pictures.
Hopefully the arms look better now with the added texture and
visual interest.

Nice pose! This mech looks ready to kick some butt.

Thanks!  The pose was accidental, it just happened to be the most stable
'action' pose that I could get (mecha standing at attention are not very
interesting, although that's the pose I used for the cockpit shot - not
that you can tell), and it turned out to look pretty cool.

The rifle is great. I
like the wings/jetpack also. Are those throwbot joints on the ankles? If so
does it stand well?

Sort of - they're the new ball & socket joints from the Technic C3PO, but
if I understand right they're very similar to the throwbot joints, except
with a cross-axle hole rather than being permanently attached to a big
chunky plastic piece.  I don't own any Throwbots myself, so I'm not sure
how they compare in terms of stiffness.

Anyway, the mech stands fairly well - the biggest problem it has is at the
hips (also the ball & socket) rather than the ankles.  While it no longer
falls over in a stiff breeze after I redesigned the pelvis, the upper part
of the mech is *almost* too heavy for them to hold properly - they'll hold
until they start to slide, then it's all over.  I haven't had any problems
with the ankles, though, and the ball joints at both hips and ankles are
what gives it the flexibility to stand in a very humanlike pose - so I was
pretty pleased with how they turned out overall.
