  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

Wow Jeff. I'm gonna have to get some of those ball and socket joints. they give a more life like and flexible feel. my mech still looks kinda stiff. John (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

RE: New wolf mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) Very cool! It's nice to see completely original mecha every once in a while. What's the inside of the cockpt look like? It looks like you have enough room to do a nice detailed interior. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  My first Mech. (unfinished)

This is the first mech that I have built. I had tried earlier but my earlier attempts never got past feet and stick like legs that would colapse when I touched them. I am very happy with the legs of this mech. But I am waiting for more LEGO to (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: How to build Mechs

Not only bulky, but extremely loose fitting. You said you aren't into technic but do you have any aqua zone or arctic stuff? You can use the jointed peices with a techinic peg on one end and either two or three fingers on the other. That joint (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) I think that it might work because there are ball joints at both ends of the throwbot piece, but that can still be done (and fairly easily, really) with the new ball-with-axle-hole piece, although it begins to require a shocking amount of (...)   Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Hips are the hardest joints to make. I'd have to say shoulders are a close 2nd. Here's a link to a mech I think Eric may have been talking about: (URL) more specifically (Using three) (URL) a shoulder (Using two) (URL)All of that said... if (...)   Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Thanks! The pose was accidental, it just happened to be the most stable 'action' pose that I could get (mecha standing at attention are not very interesting, although that's the pose I used for the cockpit shot - not that you can tell), and it (...)   Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Nice pose! This mech looks ready to kick some butt. The rifle is great. I like the wings/jetpack also. Are those throwbot joints on the ankles? If so does it stand well? Bryce (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

(...) Yeah, adding those tiles and bits helped to break up the shape so the arms didn't look like bricks. Nice rifle! ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  First "real" Mecha, v1.1

Right-o. Made a couple of changes, took a bunch more pictures. Hopefully the arms look better now with the added texture and visual interest. (URL) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Teaser Pic

(...) Hm. I've been pondering this for a while, and I'm not sure the picture shows the arm well - it's certainly not just square. (Well, OK, the right forearm is - the left one has a gun mount on it that isn't really visible in this pic - it's in (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
