  My first Mech. (unfinished)
 
This is the first mech that I have built. I had tried earlier but my earlier attempts never got past feet and stick like legs that would colapse when I touched them. I am very happy with the legs of this mech. But I am waiting for more LEGO to (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Not only bulky, but extremely loose fitting. You said you aren't into technic but do you have any aqua zone or arctic stuff? You can use the jointed peices with a techinic peg on one end and either two or three fingers on the other. That joint (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I think that it might work because there are ball joints at both ends of the throwbot piece, but that can still be done (and fairly easily, really) with the new ball-with-axle-hole piece, although it begins to require a shocking amount of (...) (...) Hips are the hardest joints to make. I'd have to say shoulders are a close 2nd. I read in another post that you said the hip joints are the biggest problem spot- I know that some folks that use Throwbot parts for the hips have used double ball joints- that (...) The pose was accidental, it just happened to be the most stable 'action' pose that I could get (mecha standing at attention are not very interesting, although that's the pose I used for the cockpit shot - not that you can tell), and it (...) (URL) construction team poses with the completed Beam Assault Rifle (BAR) for a group photo. A test firing mishap where the engineers underestimated the power of a twin muzzle blast and almost disintegrated themselves led to the gun being nicknamed (...) (...) Hm. I've been pondering this for a while, and I'm not sure the picture shows the arm well - it's certainly not just square. (Well, OK, the right forearm is - the left one has a gun mount on it that isn't really visible in this pic - it's in (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks for adding my link!! Thats something thats bothered me for awhile, at first I thought at first maybe I'm just so stinkin bad that they don't want me on there. But people seem to like my models fairly well so I asked about again; who ever can (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I really don't like cutting things up, and I have no Throwbots. I'm really not into the technic stuff. there might be a way to attach clikers to a turntable and that would simulate a primitive ball and socket. but it would (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Brian, I was thinking of you this weekend when my new throw bot based shoulder joint wouldn't hold the weight of my new mech's arm. :-( I may have to take a closer look at your designs.
