  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Thank you Eric, Mladen, Larry and Mark, I have decided to take the plunge. Since I am a newbie (but I have read the (URL) Mech Grammar> lesson provided on the Mech Home Page) but still do not have a clear understanding of the differences (...)   Re: The Beeesh

(...) Mladen, Thanks for the advice and I would like to take you up on the offer to browse your LDraw works? Do you have a link that you could supply me? After looking at the Beesch and now Mark's newest creation, I think it will be best to start at (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Thanks Larry, Do you have any personal recommendations (with links) of masterbuilders both of Mech and LEGO in general that you would share? Brian (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: beginnings of a mech

(...) Mark, thanks for the post since I have been the one that has been asking. I'm not sure if I should smile or cry ... it's so beautiful. I caught my first glimpse of it this morning on Brickshelf! Seeing the inner-workings on a project like this (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

You are so the man! Look at that. It is the formula. e (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  beginnings of a mech

I thought I'd share this as I've seen some postings asking about this very sort of building. One of my mechs, Hammer, fell and had a boo boo. Atomized would be the word. So anway I'm taking it all in stride and building a new mech. I'm gonna call (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Quite the remake of the Gomgile. I'll admit right off that I know near-to-jack about mecha, but I can say the posture of the mech is much improved. B looks eternally ready to pounce. I want to see this in real life, your mechas have so much (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Now There's an Enthusiast - Hidden Treasure (was Re: The Beeesh)

(...) This is what I have been doing in documenting the complete redesign of my minifig scale space shuttle orbiter. (URL) the casual observer, the new orbiter isn't remarkably different from the old one, since they are basically built to the same (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) I second Larry's advice. I personally studied the LDraw files of past builders such as (URL) Karim Nassar>, (URL) Ben Vaughan> (site is down), and (URL) Jeremy Sproat> (site is down). The MOCs these guys made were so critical to my (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) And don't be afraid to ask quesions either. Most of us don't hold onto our trade secrets too closely. Mark Neumann (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) I'm not Eric but this question can be asked in any theme, do you start by copying the idioms of the best builders in the theme (be it trains, castle, spaceships, mecha, whatever) or start by trying to develop your own? My advice, however (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Eric, I appreciate your responses. (...) Amazing! (...) So I guess the question and decision I am left with is: Do I create my own joints from scratch or do I ask for examples and start from where others have left off? What would you (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Both thank you and sorry about that. Sometimes we have difficulty playing together in the sand box. (...) I might rabbit, I might. (...) Please do, this makes it fun. (...) Yes. (...) Each joint is controlled and held in place by use of worm (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Now There's an Enthusiast - Hidden Treasure (was Re: The Beeesh)

Scott, thank you. You do make good points. I appreciate your words. If you place your cursor over the picture links, I embedded construction highlights within the thumb links. That is all I wanted to add. I felt the Mecha exhibited only a handful of (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Now There's an Enthusiast - Hidden Treasure (was Re: The Beeesh)

(...) Eric, In light of recent personal events with you, I'm not sure you'll take what I'm saying favorably or not. Perhaps if you wrote down in your original post all the improvements you made to the Mech, people would appreciate it, and look at (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Teikiatsu Ver.2

Teikiatsu Ver.2 (URL) thought i rushed the first version so this is my attempt to fix it. The changes are obvious. I think the head could still be better but that is the way it will be for now. Thanks. Marcus (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gaidoku

(...) Hey, Thanks for the reply. I could have built a better mini mech but I was trying to limit myself to what pieces I had in front of me at the time. This mini mech is the prototype for some mini mechs I plan to make later. For now I am working (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gaidoku

(...) I like it. The color scheme is, if I may say so, more integrated than Teikatsu's. Why? It's mostly spider-orange, but interrupted by grey and black -- which, as an essay (re: Color Theory in LEGO Models) that I recently read explained, are (...)   Re: The Beeesh

(...) I have found your Beesch and the following thread quite enlightening (This thread is all that I have ever heard LUGNET to be -- thanks all). I have had a mild interest in starting to build Mechs and it sounds like you know quite a bit. So if (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
