Re: what defines a MOC as blacktron? was: (2nd Annual Space Building Contest) —Jason Whittenburg
Some suggestions for "Blacktron-ness": - Color, you got to have Black and Yellow with a little trans-red! :-) - Style! Blacktron I is all about style! - Remember the story positioning; the Blacktron are spies, pirates and theives that are out to (...) (23 years ago, 15-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

(...) highlights, trans-yellow windows, some small trans red highlights are okay. They definitly must have some style. When the sets first came out, everyone said, "Now that is cool!" Most BT1 designs look sleek, even the black visors add to the (...) (23 years ago, 15-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

It is true that that the Space Police seem to have occasionally captured a Blacktron, but who can say what that may mean? The precise nature of the relationship between (...)       (Hope no one minds, I moved this to .space) Sorry, I can't resist... My first-thing-in-mind answers (hee-hee!)          Re: what defines a MOC as blacktron? was: (2nd Annual Space Building Contest) —John P. Henderson
I said I'd post it... My slightly more serious response, **based on how my BT1 sets fit into my LEGO fantasy world**: (...) The BT1 are the space force formed by Vathan Boldt of Darknia. He used them to assault the Billundian lunar colonies (...) (23 years ago, 15-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

It is rumoured that all who set eyes on the secretive Blacktron Queens are hunted down, captured, and returned to the hidden Lost Moons for a lifetime of tortuous slavery! (...)         Re: what defines a MOC as blacktron? was: (2nd Annual Space Building Contest) —Jason Whittenburg
(...) Actually, a story like that (pretty close) was in the US and Canada LEGO catalog around 1988. Additionally if someone in the Atlanta area needs to use a BT1 minifig, I can loan you one for picture taking purposes. -Jason (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

(...) Duuuuude! Don't be like that, give us a reference! I have several of each of the BT1 sets, and lot's of promotional materials from the same BT1 sets MISB (all opened now), and I have NEVER seen this suggested storyline. I am all ears, baby! (...)      (...) *sigh* My bad <-- See I can fess up! I looked it up, it was a BT2 thing in the 1991 US/CA catalog. So not a BT1 story, per se. -Jason (23 years ago, 19-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests)
