I might have tried a DFD alternate, but I destroyed it long ago to make
another model (my Skyraider) and I haven't reached a point where I'm willing
to take it apart. That left me with the BB and the Celestial Sled. I
couldn't make anything out of the sled. Except a minifig with a lance and
really big skis

Those would probably be photoshop tricks (and I'm not familiar with
photoshop). I imagine you just render your model with no floor and then cut
and paste it onto the background of your choice.
