Re: New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

(...) I must say, the model does successfully capture the "feel" of a Le Corbusier building. I went to Clemson Univ. in Clemson, South Carolina for architecture (or "architorture" as we called it); a lot of the professors were heavily into the (...)   Re: New MOC: Hotel Ambassador - (ISCC)

You are correct that the crank is for the elevator. One of those unseen but cool details. The "L" shape of the upper floors was a common practice in the early 20th century and I like the added realism it gives. Thanks for the comments! David Kohrman (...)   Re: New MOC: Hotel Ambassador - (ISCC)

(...) the shape of the upper floors is not a perfect square or rectangle, even though the base is. The card slots behind the receptionist are a cool detail. And can we assume that the crank hidden in the rear connects to a funtioning elevator? Cool! (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.contests)

New MOC: Hotel Ambassador - (ISCC)

Its been a few years since I've built any large town buildings but I'm going to build a new city layout and would like to announce my first building: the Hotel Ambassador. It is a five story fully furnished hotel with 24 guest rooms, a lobby, two (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.contests) !

Re: New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

(...) One word: Marvelous! The design is innovative, and the way you were able to capture the feel of the model and sketches in Lego is amazing. I am not a big fan of "modern" architecture, but this building is spectacular. Henry (25 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

(...) Bram, Wow, what an original MOC, I like it. I don't think I've seen a MOC anything like it before. The only minor quibble I have is that the studio area could be bigger. Thanks, George (25 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.contests)

New MOC: Artist's Studio Retreat (ISCC Entry)

Well, after 5 days or so, my entry still isn't up on the ISCC website, so I decided to go ahead and post the pictures on my own site. My entry is a modern architecture studio on the beach, designed in the style of architect Le Corbusier: (URL) (...)   Blacktron entry

Hello, Here are my entries in the BT comp. There is a polybag speeder and a Base entry. I apologise in advance for the very cruddy picture quality, I only have a poor quality webcam. When viewing the main page, please allow the animated gifs time to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: BT 1 Contest Entry for Thomas Tyers - Attn: Scrutinizer!

(...) IIRC, one doesn't need to be a member to be a poster, they just have to get clearance to post. I wasn't aware of any restriction of that kind re: the BT-I contest. LFB (25 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

BT 1 Contest Entry for Thomas Tyers - Attn: Scrutinizer!

I received an email from Thomas Tyers asking if and how he could enter the contest if he were not a lugnet member. His not being a lugnet member may cause complications when it comes time to begin voting (depending on however you're planning on (...)   Re: BT1 Contest Entry: Vengeance

(...) Thanks! (...) I was hoping no one would notice that :-) A Blacktron ship just HAS to be modular, and the configuration I used last year worked very well, so I decided to reuse some of those ideas. (...) I agree - with the details I've (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: Blacktron 1 Space contest (BT1)

(...) Addendum: I peg this puppy at a catagory V. I don't have a parts count but the main model is the ship. Mr Scrutinizer please use photo 'blacktrona' for the thumbnail. Thank you all, Greg~ The name of the ship is by no means an intent to sway (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  Blacktron 1 Space contest

Hello, The item this post links to is called the Scrutinizer. It's design and mission is for long range scouting. The ship has three huge engines powering it well past the speed of ludicrous. The ship can transform into a three legged walker for (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: BT1 Contest Entry: Vengeance

(...) I really like the background info in your post. In my world, it is also true that early BT1 craft (known as Darknians) were based on the designs of earlier vehicles. It's too bad we couldn't have a catagory in the contest for the submission (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  BT1 Contest Entry: Vengeance

The origins of the Blacktron Amada are difficult to trace. While it has been known for some time that the earliest Blacktron ships were merely modified Galaxy Explorer-class ships, it is quite a leap from that Classic Space-era technology to the (...)   Re: My BT Contest Update: Is the Scrutinizer in the house?
