That's quite hard to photograph indeed. Perhaps you can overexpose
slightly, to get some more details in the black texture. The images may
come out a bit greyish, but you can adjust them after the scanning
procedure, so that you get black colour, as well as the details you
need.
Other than that, I can only suggest that you try to avoid any light
sources reflecting off the black surface into the camera lens.
