Hi, Scott. Yes, those are 1x1 headlight bricks. I first stumbled onto that
building technique when I was trying to figure out a way to make God in could
form in Exodus -- I needed studs poiting in four directions to attach the outer
curves of the cloud. While messing around with that idea, I found that using
multiple colored headlight bricks can yeild some very cool patterns.
I got kind of obsessed with this idea, and so started exploring the idea with
Ldraw (since I didn't have the requisite thousands over headlight bricks on
hand). Over the past several months I've come up with a lot of neat patterns,
and I've sort of been waiting for a good excuse to finally use this technique in
The Brick Testament.
