Re: 40 New Photos of my city; More

Wow! Very impressive! I love the relief on the face of the mall building. And the flags are a very nice touch. You must have quite a bit of space to work with (and plently of bricks). A superb effort indeed. -- Michael Hopkins Visit my lego page at: (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

40 New Photos of my city; More

All: Hello! I have a whole TON of announcements about changes to my site! I've added a whole ton of stuff in the last 2 weeks. A list of the most recent changes are at (URL) Here's a brief summary: - I just put up about 40 new pictures of my city (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

My first Original Train Locomotive Creation (age 9 or 10)

During Christmas Break my mom dug up some photographs of when I was 9 or 10 years old. To my surprise one photograph showed the first train locomotive I built. My only LEGO train set at that time (approx. 1979 or 1980) was the first blue track cargo (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: New Service Packs for 1999..

(...) Yes, and they'd make for great door edges, allowing for easily opening flush-mounted doors without large gaps. Right now, I'm shaving some 1x2 and 1x3 bricks for this purpose, by beveling a corner so that it's roughly like 1/4 of a 1x1 round (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) I used to do the odd povray animation and am just getting back into it with lego models, This would make a great little project for me to practice on if you don't mind. Tim (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) Thanks! Me too. If anyone cares to do an animation, I'd love to see it, as it would take me several months. I'm not povray camera savvy either. -Tom McD. (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) Right. Symmetrical yes, but all the base pieces are rotated 45 degrees around their respective y-axes. With respect to the model, the picture shows the turret rotated 45 degrees. It was much faster to design the tank that way to get the same (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

Re: New Service Packs for 1999..

(...) I just thought of these. They are great to make rounded corners, but the structural soundness of the model is less than with overlapping 1x2's. They should make a 1x2 with a rounded-off end, sort of like a 1x1 with half of a 'macaroni' (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) been trying deal with that problem for a while. Hey! Your tank is asymmetric! Well, not exactly. It's more like the studs on the main flat surface aren't aligned normal to the fore-aft axis, right? Steve (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Re: SEV2

(...) I'll second that. In fact, I'd have to say it's one of the coolest space-type models I've seen. I'd love to see an animation. :) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Re: four legged walker

(...) Do you mean simple steering, or something ever more advanced? You can probably achieve steering by articulating the body, between the two pairs of legs. Fredrik (26 years ago, 7-Nov-98, to lugnet.build)

  four legged walker

has anyone made a four legged walker that can walk round corners yet? I have been experimenting with my cats, to see how they do it, but is looks incredibly compex. I even had my girlfriend wallking up and down the floor, to see how two legged (...) (26 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.build)

  Gothic tracery idea

Hi all, Last week I was thinking about ways to get convincing Gothic tracery without making a huge window. I hit upon the idea to rotate the wall plane 90 degrees and then use 1xn plates to create the tracery. The idea worked out very well, but it (...) (26 years ago, 22-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
