Submitted for your approval, a KeithLUG cooperative build with Ryan Rubino and Mike Rutherford. New-look MOCpages (URL) Or Wave of the future Flickr? (URL) As always, your witty commentary, smack, non-sequiturs and all around "crazy talk" is not (...) (17 years ago, 16-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX) !

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

Thanks for all the comments! All the suggestions so far have been most helpful. It seems the story is on the right track, which is good. The two most common "constructive criticisms" so far have been regarding showing who's speaking in the dialogue (...) (17 years ago, 16-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

Very Interesting! I like the cinematic feel you have achieved (I must try that sometime) and despite some dialogue difficulties the presentation is very tight, though maybe a giant 'next' button would be in order. I look forward to seeing more. God (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

(...) Very cool. I am hooked to the story already. :-) The only thing I would improve is a method of seeing who is talking. The icons idea mentioned above would work well, but even just the speaking character's name before each line would work. In (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

In lugnet.announce.moc, Tom Wilson wrote: I had a good laugh and really wonder how the story is going to develop! would it be possible to tell the number of slides when announcing an episode. don't need a countdown inside the show just some info if (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Thinking Outside The Box

(...) Build it in yellow, turn it on it's side, and you have Pac Man. You could even hide a ghost inside! -Doug (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

Thanks for the positive feedback. We'd hoped other folks would enjoy our strange experiment! Nicole and I really like the avatar idea, too. I'm going to play around with that and see if we can pull it together. I think that combined with some of the (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: WWE Superstars in LEGO

(...) "The Oldest Player in the Game" as we like to call him. My girlfriend and I always sort of cringe when he takes the cape off these days. Of course I used to cringe when any of the steroid-pumped musclebound wrestlers came into the ring in the (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: WWE Superstars in LEGO

(...) Thanks, Adrian. Glad you enjoyed these. Maybe I should also build Mick a collapsible folding table that is on fire. -Brendan (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

(...) I really like the avatar idea, it would definately help, as the cast expands. But this is a really great start. There's so much detail, I feel like you know where you are going with it (something lacking from so many web comics). The mystery (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Thinking Outside The Box

Several months ago I built some LEGO SOMA puzzle cubes with six smooth sides. Now it was time to build something to store the cubes in. I saw that a few years ago Eric Harshbarger built a SOMA cube and nice storage box. Not wanting to just copy (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, FTX) !

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

(...) Perhaps if you gave each character a unique prefix? If you include colors with your greater than symbols, you'd probably not run out. But I think the most clear thing would be to take a small picture of each minifig's face, and put that beside (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

Thanks, Ted! Glad you enjoyed it. We're looking to do a new episode every 2 weeks. The issue of showing who's talking without speech bubbles was challenging, especially since our actors refuse to open their mouths! We're trying to get better at (...)   Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

That is really compelling. Very movie-like and something I will be following. I noticed that as it went along it got easier to tell who was speaking as it was a little hard to follow in some of the episode 1 panels. Is there a way to watch it as a (...)   Re: By any other name...

(...) From a fellow rosebuilder, I say well done, Joe! I especially like the way you've incorporated many useless (to me, anyway) wedge plates. You've created a nice, tight pack of petals. Now, back to the Journal! :-) JOHN (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Building Robopussy

(...) A, I would remark that the stiffening of hinges issue could become critical, and ultimately the downfall of your endeavor. I urge you to soldier on, and seek inspiration where you find it, to stiffen that hinge. Perhaps you should seek a state (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  By any other name...

I finally built something. Not a spaceship, nor a building. Not micro, or minifig scale. (...) Or grok the fullness even. Robopussy, strictly speaking, is neither mech nor mecha, but it uses a lot of the same build techinques, so this seemed like the best place to post it. I call it a 'big-fig'. (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
