  About Emerge

(URL) Though the hit counter at Brickshelf might not show it, this creation has been the subject of a lot of attention. This attention has come not only from folks in the AFOL community, but other artists have commented on it as well. I’m often not (...) (19 years ago, 21-May-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !!

(...) I used the grill for the overpass on my station - not a fence, but looks quite good. (URL) And it would be very easy to smash through from the inside, but that may not be what you want. ROSCO (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build)

(...) Is this the piece you're referring to: (URL) call it a "train signal mast", it's more than 8 studs long, and yes, you'll have a hard time getting a large quantity of those! -Bryan (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Chain link fence/fence ideas.

(...) Ah yes, the one piece that always comes up in the "wouldn't it be great if LEGO made this piece?" discussions. :) Yes, this fence is actually pretty flimsy, with those fence pieces held by only one stud. It would be so much sturdier if there (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

(...) That is how I do it. But, I don't make them that high. (...) Remove the 1x1x5 column and use a combination of 1x1x1 bricks and 1x1 plates & it would work. Jonathan (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Track and Field vignettes

Hey Bruce, Great work as always... these all have a certain 'cute' feel to them and the scale is excellent in its 'figness'. Thanks and God Bless, Nathan (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Chain link fence/fence ideas.

Both of those are good ideas. I was kind of hoping of making something that a tank/truck could "bust through". The net would be better for that, but the grill looks a bit better. I also thought of using a bunch of these: (URL) I don't know how you'd (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build)

  Chain link fence/fence ideas.

Hey all, Does anyone have any ideas as to how one would build a chain link fence? the obvious solution to me is just a bunch of 1x1 bricks, stacked, with 1x8 plates running between them, but this looks a bit blocky. Does anyone know of any good (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Checkers vignette

(...) Oh yes, I meant to point that out. I intentionally cut the board size/complexity in half, for a couple of reasons (beyond the obvious one of 1x1 plates being a bit too big for minifig-scale checkers!). First, it seems to me that objects in (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Micro (or mini?) Sears Tower

All right, so I know I'm not the first... but my son is a big fan of the Sears Tower, and we had to build one. We can't afford to make it minifig scale (even within the usually loose interpretation of that), so it's more like mini or micro scale. (...)   Checkers vignette

Here's a little vignette I made for the park in the LEGO town my son and I like to play in. It's just a couple of old guys playing checkers. (URL) Click the image to see a few other views at the BrickShelf gallery. OK, so it's not much, but hey, I'm (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Bruce - I love the use of two flags to represent a tearing ribbon! It adds a tremendous dynamism what otherwise could be a static looking scene. Brilliant! -Rob A> (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)
