Hey all,
Does anyone have any ideas as to how one would build a chain link fence?
|
I feel certain that Ive seen someone use the 8x8 plates with grills:
I thought it might be in Keith Goldmans Iron Reich models, but dont see
anything.
Wait a minute ...
... opens ldraw ...
... 20 minutes later ...
How about using 1x4x2 fences, somehow put together snot-wise:
I actually dont think my snot solution works there. I find it hard to tell
from ldraw, but it seems like the studs on the 1x1 bricks with studs on all
sides (and, btw, the 1x1 bricks with studs on two sides would be better; I
just have an older version of mlcad) dont exactly match up. If I had my
bricks I could play around with the idea a little more, but perhaps that sort
of idea would work?

That looks nice. Though those connector bricks are kinda expensive on Brickbay.
I mean Bricklink. :) Not as expensive as 8x8 grids, though.
I wonder if a part (preferably a plate or tile) exists that reverses the stud
and hole, and allows you to put two things back to back. The only ones I have
are from Megablocks, and are 2x2. Studs on both sides of the coin, so to speak.
Megablocks sucks for the most part, but they do have the rare useful part. I
have never seen anything similar from lego (besides the piece you used in that
drawing).
Nice design though. I may have to try it out. I also thought of using the
clip in some fashion with the fence pieces.

Not sure, Ill play around with it.
By the way, if the top of the brick is the stud, whats the bottom called?
The hole?

| (...) Ah yes, the one piece that always comes up in the "wouldn't it be great if LEGO made this piece?" discussions. :) Yes, this fence is actually pretty flimsy, with those fence pieces held by only one stud. It would be so much sturdier if there (...) (20 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)
