Ah yes, the one piece that always comes up in the “wouldn’t it be great if LEGO made this piece?” discussions. :) Yes, this fence is actually pretty flimsy, with those fence pieces held by only one stud. It would be so much sturdier if there was a 1x8 plate with studs on both sides piece. Ah well, I can dream.

You can stick things to either side of this clip:

Maybe something like this:

Again, you might want to play around with it to make sure everything lines up.

(...) That looks nice. Though those connector bricks are kinda expensive on Brickbay. I mean Bricklink. :) Not as expensive as 8x8 grids, though.
