Re: Finally some pictures of the carrier I'm building!

Mike, I am really impressed with the big black ship of yours. It has a very nice shape and does look very refined. One question, how did you make those engine plates? They look awesome. pat J (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

In lugnet.build, Jeremy H. Sproat writes: [...] (...) Clutterfication? :-) I remember seeing something (years ago) on TV that talked about ILM: a model-maker was being interviewed, and demonstrated how they had attached bits from battleships and (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)

  Funky stuff (Was: Max's Motorhome)

(...) I get most of it from Karim Nassar. He has an excellent description of this "scuplting" style here: (URL) most important item (IMO) is #1 -- "Don't get caught up in the 'bumps-up' way of thinking." There are just too many shapes you can get (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Max's Motorhome

(...) That "funky" stuff is rubbing off on to me from Jeremy. I forgot who he got it from, but it really opens my eyes to look at the bricks a whole new way. (sort of frustrating sometimes as well.) (...) This looks a lot more of what I was aiming (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: Finally some pictures of the carrier I'm building!

As a fan of large space ships I must say that is awesome. I am sure some remeber some of my own large ships. (URL) I must commend you, yours is the first ship I have seen that was "real" (not a rendering) that is bigger and more refined than my own. (...)   Re: Max's Motorhome

(X-post to lugnet.build) (...) I like the SUV. The small yellow "wing" on the hood gives it a "Land Rover look" and the cloth doors is a nice and creative touch. The wheels may look a bit small, though, but all in all you've done some very nice (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: Vintage Trucks

I think they look great! If someone want even more ideas when it comes to building old style trucks, here's one I've had for a while, but never had time to finish off: Some old style (eg. your red 1930's) trucks normally had a large grille with a (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build)

  RE: Vintage Trucks

(...) Here's a direct link... (URL) These are BEAUTIFUL. The goofy technic hubs finally have a use in vehicles that are not mice inside giant robot cats. Lookup set 8257 and see what I mean. The flip down sides of the stake truck are a nice touch. I (...) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

  Re: Vintage Trucks

Beautiful! I am now inspired to revisit my attempts at an antique engine for LBFR. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, Will Visit the Lego Beach Fire and Rescue Service (URL) (25 years ago, 16-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

  Vintage Trucks

I have just finished building some heavy goods vehicles: 1920's solid tyre truck 1920's solid tyre van 1930's pneumatic tyre forward control truck and a 1930's fire engine (New World body style) go to Allanton's Latest News page thanks ... (...) Sleepy, eh, Jon? :) For those who wanted a quick pointer to the page without hunting for the original message, Jon's extremely cool MOC is at: (URL) really a great model, especially because we get to watch it take shape!   Re: Finally some pictures of the carrier I'm building!

(...) The page is not important. The ship, the ship is wow. It breaks paradigms. I mean, I've seen some big ships before. I know my biggest creation (roughly 2x the size of the Galactic Mediator) isn't really all that big, but nothing I've seen is (...)   Re: Some nostalgia: Childhood MOCs and some others

(...) Thank you very much for your nice words...:-) I like "sculpting" like this but actually it is closely related with being a rather old timer (I got my first set in 1976) and having "bricks and plates mostly" type of collection when I started (...)   Very teensy update.

Well I now have one more picture of the ship on the title page. Nothing much, just a head on shot with my grim reaper thrown in for scale. Coming soon I'll have a few more pictures ( probably thumbnailed in a new section). I have decided to (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

  Re: StarCraft: Terran Marine

I was thinking of building some Terran ground units but then I built a dragoon. It was made so that one minifig can fit in side. It also had the cannon on its back and the little thing that rotates under it. I'm going to try to make some Terran air (...)
