One of the enduring challenges of LEGO is not to make BIG
trucks look real, but small trucks. Well done!

Thank you.  Some might call me a "purist" by going 4-wide
but the truth is I really do like the challenge...and the
satisfaction of a job well done :-)

I have a few of the old axle sets for cars and trucks that • were
built into the bottom of a 2x2 brick. They include • reasonably
realistic single and dual tires. I'll build a little truck
and post photos soon.

I always did like those tires.  Too bad they never issued
them with the newer wheelsets.  Yes, I know I could just
swap them out but that never felt right to me.

Will, you might want to look at my 4-wide cabover tractor • and apply
your considerable skills to a hook&ladder unit...

1)  I have seen it and have been impressed.  Kudos to you
too!
2)  I actually have a finished tractor design for a hook and
ladder.  I designed it to replace the cab on my Snorkel
Squad but don't have any good way to showcase it yet (no
digital camera or scanner and you can't complete the model
in lDraw due to lack of parts).  It's basically the front
end of Rescue One (without the extended cab) with a pair of
equipment boxes mounted behind the cab.

Thanks for the kind words,
Will
