Re: Roo Mech - entry for The Great Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition

(...) Well it is a bit big, but I liked it too much to try and redo it smaller. Personality won over accuracy this time. (...) Thanks. I must have rebuilt the legs five times before getting the right balance between range of motion, appearance, and (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Mecha construction: Make-a-Mecha 9-10

Eric, I got to salute you on this, fantastic idea! It was a lot of fun seeing Skrylitch come together. Making me think I aught to so something similar. Then this really will be BUILD.mecha cool. Mark (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Try using the ones Cris suggested, they look like your best bet. (...) Dang.I'm really impressed with the design, color scheme, smoothness, size...everything. -Joseph (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

Very slick. I like the new legs, chunky and sexy without being overdone. Soren (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Now that's pretty. Great job on the arms, this version is perfect. And it's amazing how changing the arms makes the torso come into proportion. Everything looks nice there. The ankles are very good, but maybe the feet could be widened by a (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) I must admit I thought the original versio was pretty ordinary, but you're redesign has taken it from what looked like a first mech to something that looks like you've been building mech for years. The new legs are a treat. Cheating is allowed (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Roo Mech - entry for The Great Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition

(...) Soooo cute! The oversized head is perfect for a joey... (just build her Mum now you've got two weeks to do it after all!). da-da-da-dum da-dum etc.... will be going through my mind for the rest of the day. Cheers Richie Dulin (3 URLs) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

Here are some slightly better pics. I completely redid the arms and beefed up the ankle joint, but I'm still stuck on the hands. This model is the perfect size to keep any hand I've seen from being proportionally correct. (2 URLs) Enjoy. -Brayton (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Roo Mech - entry for The Great Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition

Great job, it has a lot of personality! It is very kangaroo-like. It does not appear to be heavily armed though, but maybe equipping it with huge rocket launchers, missile racks and a railgun would detract from the main theme. Can't help but wonder (...)   Re: LEGO Cicada (bzzz...zzz)

(...) My first encounter with cicada culture was with their arch-nemesis, Cicada Killer, a yellow wasp that threatens people and stings the heck out of unsuspecting annual Cicada Okanagana. At this time you hear the other, deafening Cicada cry: the (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Roo Mech - entry for The Great Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition

Wow. That's really cool. I'd like to see it fight Adrian's turkey to the death. Really beautiful construction, too. The legs are my favorite, lots of schleim. I'm kind of disapointed that the pouch doesn't launch a mini Roomech though... Soren (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.mecha)

Let's review. Steps 1 - 8 Head, hands, chest, shoulders, waist, hips, now, legs and feet. #9 Make some Legs In the last steps, we created some hips. Begin to create some connections to the upper Leg.   Roo Mech - entry for The Great Breathe Life Into .loc.au competition

Here's my entry for the comp. Thanks for the extension Richie - I almost didn't need it :) I might do another one now. Pardon the lack of backstory, but it's late, I'm tired, and I'm just happy to get the thing finished, so please enjoy the pics. (...)   RE: Giant LEGO Mosaic In Owen Sound, Ontario

(...) Bill, sorry about that. Please forgive a silly Mindstorms specialist for not knowing that there was actually a mosaic group. :-) I WILL post pictures once the final mosaic is assembled... Cheers, Ralph (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) Wow. I quite liked the original, and like this even more. As the others have said, the sign of an excellent builder is taking what advice works for your style, going back and thinking out what was an exceptional model into a supberb one. Those (...)   Re: LEGO Cicada (bzzz...zzz)

(...) Very nice work!!!! I, too, have built a cicada, I just haven't gotten any pics yet. I used pieces from the Wild Collection set (409?/41??) released last year. Frankly, I think your use of minifig arms better reflects the legs of the little (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Hello Erik, thanks for your compliments and annotations. I surely would like to have some more tan slopes ;-) And in using them I discovered that you don't really need the tan bricks to build the original Pyramid, so that does give some perspective (...)
