Re: I'm Through Coloring Inside the Lines for Awhile...

I think 14 hours is typical build time for the Technic Space Shuttle. I actually was disappointed when it was finished, because I was having so much fun building it. The "Aha!" moments were wonderful! I intentionally took time to savor every step. (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: I'm Through Coloring Inside the Lines for Awhile...

I, too, buy LEGO sets for the parts, but I normally build the main model anyway. If it's a small model, I try to build it without looking at the instructions. When the model is built, I tear it down again almost immediately and sort the pieces into (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.build)

  All black 5542

The first time I built the Model Team 5542 Black Thunder I substituted black bricks for all non black bricks in the set. It looked real nice, but it just sat on the shelf for a year. I just dusted it off and created a scene where it might fit in: (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.publish, lugnet.modelteam)

(...) display. Every so often, I may move them around, or take them apart for "storage", but I haven't built a model from scratch since I was 10 or so (I'm 22 now). Unfortunately, I don't have much of anything resembling an imagination. I just like (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.build)

Vague Lousy Page is Finally Up...dated

(...) Thanks for the kind words (and the nightmares). There's much more up now--more captions, better attributions, and a dozen new .jpgs-- check it out, feedback welcome (besides "get a colour scanner" ;) ). LFB. (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build)

I'm Through Coloring Inside the Lines for Awhile...

I'm the first to admit that I buy LEGO sets just for the parts. I never actually build the model in the instruction booklet. Until a recent post by Ralph Hempel about the 8226 Mud Masher that sent me on a bit of a building rampage. The Mud Masher (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO Queen Amidala

Henry, That is quite impressive. I can imagine how heavy it must be as my Alice model was quite weighty and only 4 feet tall. Maybe one day we'll be able to pose my LEGO R2D2 next to your Queen... quite a LEGO-moment it would be. Good work, eric (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)
