I got a really cool idea on how to make a Samus Aran minifig. My NLSO was kind enough to do the custom paint job for me. Now I have 'The Hunter' as a minifig. Thanks Tobbe I am glad you like the models. Regarding the orange and dark grey version it was just an experiment from the beginning, but I found that orange and dark greu contrast to each other in an exciting way. dang, this mecha just makes me want to delve into the "studless" look even more. too bad tiles are so expensive at bricklink. very nice form, especially how the v-shape of the torso really accents the bulkiness of the legs and armor. i also like how (...) dude, it looks just like her! i love the arm cannon. i don't know much about samus or metroid other than the original game, but from the recent gamecube pics i've seen, your model looks pretty accurate. i really like the head. the bulky shoulders (...) Here's a challange that anyone can join: Start with a 2 x 8 brick, attach a 2 x 4 brick on it like so: (URL) add another 2 x 4 brick so that only one stud is attached to the 2 x 4 underneath it. Hexapod? meaning six sided? Are their six legs? What joint tech did you try? Ball, click hinge, or other? The best joinys are geared, they hold waaaaay more weight then anything else. Tony both of these are really cool. great work! (...) stories are so real and well done as well as are the armor descriptions on the WolfSpyder. The WolfSpyder is an awesome model on it's own too. I believe the style sheet function is not reconized by IE 5. I use a stylesheet format that has an overflow scrollbox. Welcome to the Void! An interesting design. It truly does have an alien feel to it. I am particuliarly fond of the trailing black canard....it adds to the organic nature the backstory alludes to. (...) But if you want to use the full resolution of the map (2x the number of studs) then you become restricted to round plates, as nothing else will fit the 'half way' positions between four studs. Hey Jamie, the arms are actually pretty highly posable. the sholder rotation is the best and it is strong. The elbow needs a little saran wrap on the end of the anntena ball to make it nice and stiff, but now it can hold those huge guns! As for (...) Thank you David! I made the upper arms short and made the forearms elongated as sort of my homage to the Bubblegum Crisis suits. The only thin I wish I could do is make the "hands" more real looking but at such a small scale, well... The enclosed (...) Chris, I am please that you like both of the creations! The antennas were an evolution in mecha suit design and I think I have reached the end of that evolution, I want to build something different. I, for one, wouldn't mind being included in the list of members on a tile. I could see how some people would want their own presence. Given that, I like both Frank's and Lar's ideas.
