  Re: New Building (light gray)

Hm. Dan, your point is valid, I think, but not what Larry was referring to. To my way of thinking, the buildings -should- have been (but were not) posted to lugnet.trains. They were instead posted to lugnet.trains.org (among others). Larry's point (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

Re: Request for help: bomber gun turrets

(...) My solution swivels, but doesn't pivot up and down. I figured that was just too hard to do in Lego. --Bill. (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Asimov Terrestrial Explorer

(...) That was one of the toughest things about this model, using my admittedly limited supply of trans blue pieces to open things up. I'm particularly pleased with the way the cockpit turned out. I had also thought about using a secondary color in (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New Moc: Asimov Terrestrial Explorer

WOW! Now this is a beautiful model! ;-) I simply *love* the clean design Adrian! And the tracks look very cool; better than wheels. The interior is excellent, as well as the overall colour scheme. I commend you for using only one trans colour for (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Actually, Larry, it can be viewed as most appropriate of John Neal to post to .train. I kindly direct you to model rr mags which routinely feature articles on buildings related to train layouts. As John is a regular trainbuilder, surely this (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Midnight MOCkery Contest

Midnight MOCkery is a building contest open to anyone who would like to answer the question; what would “gothic” LEGO look like? I feel that this contest will point some builders in new directions creatively. And what better time to try it than now (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Thanks, Brad, and of course, you are absolutely correct. I do plan on one day finishing the interior, but I was just too excited about building more buildings at the time and so just I forged on to newer things. Thing is, when you start a (...)   RE: New MOC: 8 wide Lotus Esprit S4

(...) Well, it's either a slightly hollowed out look or the hollow studs, which I don't like much either. (...) Heheh...it's not a '77 Lotus though :) I think you'd have to go to a slightly bigger scale to make it convert (12 or 16 wide?) I'd love (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...)   Re: Request for help: bomber gun turrets

Glad to have been a help, I spent some more time on it the other day, but I couldn't find a design that was compact, and worked, glad you found a solution though! Can't wait to see the final product! -Geordan- (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New MOC: 8 wide Lotus Esprit S4

(...) Yeah, I see; it's unfortunate LEGO doesn't have a 1x3 with 2 studs on top with half stud offsets (using the 1x2 tiles with single stud on top makes going from 3 studs to 2 very flimsy!); as for the 2x4 plate... hmm, you're right, I can't think (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

(...) I was able to get the helicopter windscreen to work the way you suggested - thanks! Instead of the 4x4 dish, though, I used the "Windscreen 5 x 2 x 1 & 2/3": (URL) was able to mount it using SNOT techniques at about a 60 degree angle so that (...)
