Yeah, I see; it's unfortunate LEGO doesn't have a 1x3 with 2 studs on top
with half stud offsets (using the 1x2 tiles with single stud on top makes
going from 3 studs to 2 very flimsy!); as for the 2x4 plate... hmm, you're
right, I can't think of another elegant way to do that... LEGO would have to
come up with a 4 x 2 plate with only 6 studs on top, and no studs to allow
for being placed imediately under a plate hinge... In the meantime though,
would a 2 x 3 plate work, with either a 1 x 2 tile (not attached to the
door) to take up the space left at the hinge joint, or even just leave a
gap? Oh well, at least I see why now (it always seemed like an odd aesthetic
choice!)

Me too; I haven't built any MOC's in a LONG time due to my console internet
gaming addiction (anyone else play Dreamcast games online?) but I am itching
to make SOMETHING. The hard part is trying to find a small project I want to
do that you haven't already done ;) (Like the 1977 Lotus you just did; which
I gave up on after not being able to find a way to convert it to a submarine)

| (...) Well, it's either a slightly hollowed out look or the hollow studs, which I don't like much either. (...) Heheh...it's not a '77 Lotus though :) I think you'd have to go to a slightly bigger scale to make it convert (12 or 16 wide?) I'd love (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)
