  Re: Pneumatic Cranking Compressor Pump

(...) The only set I recall that used a motorized compressor pump was the 8868, Airtech Claw Rig. (URL) used the original 9V motor and worked okay. There are some other designs on the Web by other folks. I don't know what limits the pressure. I (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Pneumatic Cranking Compressor Pump

What pneumatic sets use a compressor cranking pump to provide air power? S@H sells a Technic Service 5117 Compressor Pump consisting of 7 pieces, ie, a small cylinder pump and several pulleys. How well does this work? Ever use it with an electric (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) Well, I noticed that the top of the boiler in teh LDraw pic is horizontal, and the same height as the firebox top, and in the model as built the firebox is a plate higher than th eboiler top, and there is a step in the boiler top about halfway (...)   Re: Pneumatic Technic after 1987

Don't forget the 8854 mobile crane that came out that same year. One of my favorites not mentioned was the 8868 Air Tech Claw, lots of good part on that one (motor, gray beams, engine pieces, turntable, etc.) Adrian Jeff Stembel <Dragonelf1@aol.com> (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) Im not sure i get your drift when you say horizontal... The LDraw render of it is a preliminary idea of what i wanted to do, then the pics are what it is currently, except for the functionality of the wheels/drivers. If you didnt find the (...)   Re: Pneumatic Technic after 1987

(...) I prefer 'Tek Nik'. To me, the word "Technic" seems derived from "technical", so that pronunciation most closely follows. "Tek Neeq", as derived from "technique" is also applicable. In fact, my dictionary shows "technic" as an alternate form (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Pneumatic Technic after 1987

(...) I agree. Besides that you gets lots of yellow beams and other pieces! I bought 4-5 sets at $17 ea at Target last year. My son and I are trying to construct sort of a "landing bay" for our SW1 Naboo Fighter. The yellow Technic* beams look nice (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy

(...) I'm afraid I can't help you here. I have only used the LDraw DAT format and the POV-Ray format. I have no experience with other formats. Try the newsgroup `lugnet.dat'. Perhaps someone there can help you. BUT: You can make animations using (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

  Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy

(...) Wow, thanks. It will probably be more clear how the vehicle is constructed when I can release the LDraw source. It surprised me how sleek the front suspension could be made using the new style Technic parts. Perhaps this is how the 8448 front (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Pneumatic Technic after 1987

Do you know of any other pneumatic sets in addition to the following sets released after the year 1987? 8040, 8042, 8044, 8250, 8299, 8443, 8459, 8460, 8837 Looking for models on www.kl.net/scans with pneumatics compatible with current stuff, eg, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New MOC: Beach Buggy

(...) Exceedingly clever use of those new pieces. That's what I think. It took me several minutes of close examination to fathom the articulation of the control arms. Then I was impressed. Very clever indeed. :-) -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Trash/Garbage can lids / radar dishes

(...) Oops, yes, I stand corrected, thank you. (Shame on me, I should know better about something Space-related.) Jamie, if you buy the Ninja set #6083 (about ~US$20), it comes with 4 of these in regular classic Space gray (as opposed to dark gray). (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Trash/Garbage can lids / radar dishes

(...) Although they're Dark Grey, not Grey (1). I'd love various colors for the trashcans, especially green! Jeff 1 - I believe Grey is the color Jamie is asking about. (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Trash/Garbage can lids / radar dishes

(...) Jamie, It's pretty cool what they did: The LEGO trash/garbage can lids are indeed the exact same element as the 2x2 small space radar dishes. So these are a great way to get a bunch in that color. --Todd [followups set to lugnet.build] (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build)
