  Re: ALBATROSS!!!

<snipped intro> thanks... if I'd put more thought into it, i probably could've made some retracts, but its designed to be an easy to produce ship. no need for retracts, although the black bits are, as the BG said, supposed to be computer-controlled (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: ALBATROSS!!!

(...) <snipped cool BG> Nice work, Anthony! I can see the Sky Crane's influence. Your's is more visually similar to the Sky Crane than my Condor drop ship was, but it's cool to see someone else got inspiration from them. I've gotten a chance to see (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Scorpion Infantry Support Vehicle

(...) <snipped> (...) Thanks Jonathan. :) I haven't found many preferred uses for the canopy but it definately worked in this case. The HISS was more in line with the black version I made - just twin cannons. I decided that I wanted to have some (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Lego Mechspo

I have been showing my robots for years at art shows and the like, I would love for more people to do so, fact is they are are expensive, I produce a new robot once every year or two. It would be great if TLC would move towards this genre, but as I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Condor Dropship

(...) Thanks, Mark. :) I knew that the wing design was inspired from someplace. ;) Thanks for jogging my memory. It was indeed the big plane from 'Raiders, now that I think about it. I just knew it looked 'right'. :) The engines were a lot of fun to (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: Condor Dropship

(...) Yea, and there is another cool thing about your GI Joe theme, you can take the bad outta the Hasbro toys and make theme as they SHOULD be with your LEGO. One that I liked as a toy when I was a kid was that Joe HAVOC battlefield transport. I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Re: Lego Mechspo

(...) I think that would be lots of fun. We'd have to call it something else because FASA copyrighted the term "mech" for their Battletech game. (...) No, I don't think they would. I don't think LEGO would like the fact that 99% of the mecha you see (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Condor Dropship

(...) <snipped> (...) Thanks, Aaron. It was an intentional thing, yes. :) GI Joe was one of the two rivals to my LEGO collection as a kid. :) I've made GI Joe vehicles before, but these turned out the best of any I've done to date. I think I'll be (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Lego Mechspo

You know looking at all the interesting mechs created by the people in this forum it seems to me that a really great model exhibit could be put together that could pull thousands of people into a museum or some kind of expo (um mechspo). You'd think (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Different/exchanged heads

It's probably more a matter of taste and expediency. For example, I've changed the heads on all of my bearded warrant officers for smileys, to turn them into privates. Oh, I had to add shakos as well :-) But, speaking entirely hypothetically, if I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates)

Re: My first Sculptures, Super Giant Hello Kitty

(...) I think your Hello Kitty is every bit as good as Eric's Linux Penguin, and I like that piece a lot! I like the way you did the bow with the hinged parts, it's very clever. I have a lot of bricks left over also...I've done a Dogbert, and some (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build)

  Different/exchanged heads

I have a couple of questions the more informed members may know about. Do builders exchange the smiley face heads from one torso to another? I know this is a dumb question but the reason I ask involves the purchase at auction of the Imperial red and (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates)
