In lugnet.space, Jon Palmer writes: ... (...) Hi Jon! Very cool model! This is really crowded with detail! I like the outer "junkyard" optics, and how you stuffed all the things inside, and still have room to "walk around". I wish Lego's Millenium (...)   Re: New MOC: Hummer

(...) Hi! First of all: Again, great detail an very clever usage of parts! ("Sideway-slopes" at fenders, the rugged door-hinges ...) For the wheels: I think it's not so much the wheels that do not fit, but the roof of the car looks a bit too high (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

Very nice, me like! For a while I thought the wings were dark grey. Now I see that they are regular grey. I want some dark grey ones! Keep it up! --Kyle (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: New MOC: Hummer

(...) My guess would be he's differentiating between the civilian vehicle, a Hummer, and the military vehicle, the HMMWV. But other'n that, I dunno. -JDF (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  RE: New MOC: Hummer

(...) Mine is approximately the same scale as my 8 wide vehicles...the Hummer is a very wide vehicle, after all. (...) An intentional optical illusion :) The bottom of a 1x1 round plate is larger than the top stud, so I put the light in backwards. (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New MOC: Hummer

(...) I have to agree; you and Jay both rock at Minifig vehicles. I had started to build a hummer ages ago, but gave up (the windows I used forced it to be 8 wide, and I just couldn't quite make it look right. But yours and Jay's make me wish I'd (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Armless minifigs -- TLC Consumer Affairs policy?

My (two-part) advice: 1. Cannabalize new, less desirable minifigs. 2. Trade armless minifig torsos to craigo-lego. (He's always looking for more "spare parts" for his works. ;-) Franklin (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  RE: New MOC: Hummer

(...) I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I know that the Hummer comes in four commercial models (and that's about all I know about them): 2-door hardtop 4-door hardtop (My model) 4-door softop wagon What's the difference between a Humvee and a (...)   Re: Armless minifigs -- TLC Consumer Affairs policy?

Yeah, that occurred to me, but it kind of goes against my grain, although I may have to go that way. There was mention of a shipping/ handling fee, so I may just cannabilize new, less desirable figures, and then forget about them, rather than pay to (...)   Re: New MOC: Hummer

The wheels don't look too bad. I really like the doors. Does anyone else like Humvees better? I think that the full-cab look is just better looking. At the moment I'm working on a '78 Firebird in the same scale. lets hope I can pull it of 8) <<KM>> (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: First "real" Mecha, v1.1

I think that it might work because there are ball joints at both ends of the throwbot piece, but that can still be done (and fairly easily, really) with the new ball-with-axle-hole piece, although it begins to require a shocking amount of (...)   Armless minifigs -- TLC Consumer Affairs policy?

As a result of my own small FOTW, I've suddenly come up with the need to know about fixing armless minifigs. I got a goodly pile of 1970s-80s era figs in multiple themes from a thrift shop, but some of them are armless and/or handless. I was more (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  RE: New MOC: Hummer

(...) Thanks! (...) They're the same size, and lower profile. a 4x4 circle is almost exactly the right size...unfortunately, they don't look very good as wheels/tires, and they're too close in size to the tires I used for LEGO to have made tires (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  RE: New MOC: Hummer

(...) If they weren't balloon tires, they just might work. But they look silly since they are so wide, and are just a tiny bit too big. Anyway, I only have 1 or 2 of those wheels... Thanks anyway, --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)
