Mine is approximately the same scale as my 8 wide vehicles...the Hummer is a
very wide vehicle, after all.

I can't quite tell from the picture, but are those clear 1x1 round
plates for the headlights? (For some reason they look slightly bigger than
1x1... maybe an optical illusion?)

An intentional optical illusion :)  The bottom of a 1x1 round plate is
larger than the top stud, so I put the light in backwards.

Actually, they're not quite; if you mean the Technic wheels that
come in the latest Race theme dragster sets, they have a slightly
larger diameter (but barely); put the tires on top of each other
to see. However it's probably not much of an improvement.

Hmm, yah, I guess they are a couple millimeters bigger.  But they look like
car tires, not truck tires.

If you're lucky enough, maybe someone will donate/sell 4 classic 4 stud
diameter wheels to your cause.

With gray tires, eh?   I think those wheels wouldn't look very good,
unfortunately.  I'm beginning to sound awfully anal, huh?

Conversely, if you don't mind buying a clone brand (in the name of being
easy to find replacements for those classic stud diameter tires that LEGO
used to make) Blockmen (I think they're called) have a prefab hummer
exactly the same scale as yours, with Lego Compatible wheels (almost
exactly the same size as the classic Lego 4 diameter ones).

Wow, how can they claim those are building sets?

At least they look like Humvees :) Do the wheels even come off?

Or you could just use 6 dia. Model Team wheels (it's a Hummer; oversized
wheels would probably look more natural than undersized ones).

I might try making a modified version with the large tires for the same hubs
I used (3643 at the following URL):
