Hiyo,

The XLL324 - 'Vant' is a light cargo hauler for carrying small but vitally
important manifest travelling within the solar system. At around $3.26
million to take a small envelope to Io, it better be important, but the Vant
will get it there in a mere month.

This MOC features a)colured and styled to fit into the Pre Classic Space theme.
b) a seed part of the month. the canopy literally was the seed. I started
sticking bits to the canopy and worked back from there, c)the computer of
the month and d)not a heck of a lot of interior space.

Enjoy and PLMKWYT

(...) As a MOC, I think it's way cool. I really like the sense of power you get from the massive rear engines. I think some stubby side wings might be good to go with the one on top, otherwise it sort of looks like an afterthought. Aside from the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) I particularly liked the V for victory (or was it V for Vant) from the photographer/chronicler. Now, I have this birthday card that needs to be on Io day a week tomorrow... Richard Still baldly going... (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.au)

Hallooo Mr. Allister! I love this MOC! The yellow tint on everything makes it look all sepia and cool. The shape of the ship is great, especially with all the understated greebles.. just the perfect amount in all the right places. the detail bottom (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) shape flows beautifully back from there. The feel of the whole model is astounding. I'd say it's kind of ugly in an industrial burly way... but it pulls off that feel and *doesn't* look ugly. Did that make sense to anyone but me? -- Tony (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

I really like the blocks or zones of color. The overall shape is cool, too. The engines look good. And the elusive blue computer of the month... Showoff. -Andrew (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hey, His is a great MOC. Has that form from function look, very industrial. Those engine pods are very cool. Nice shapes to the doors and that canopy rocks the way you have it. (ps, PCS ships have a bit of trans blue in em... forgot to mention (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Allister, I really like this. I can see you put a lot of care into adding all the auxiliary manuevering nozzles, it ends up looking like a greebled, working space ship. It also looks like a very fast, no nonsense hauler. Thanks, George (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)
Re: Pre CS MOC: The XLL324 "Vant"

I think this may be my favorite pre-CS MOC for looking like something that would fit into a steady stage of advancement. The tail and thrusters are very reminiscent of the space shuttle, while the forward parts of the ship begin to resemble (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)
Re: Pre CS MOC: The XLL324 "Vant"

Nifty. I really like the airlocks and all the little greeblie bits. Just perfect. I know I'm echoing alot of others in this, but the Vant just doesn't look pCS-y to me. It's a small criticism, and it's still really cool. Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

WOW! Very utilitarian looking with the downward-facing thrusters and UCS canopy. Looks like it's built as a workhorse, with little attention to aesthetics -- and that's precisely what makes it look so pretty. The old brick adds to the workhorse (...) (22 years ago, 28-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Wow! Just like to say that this is great. The angles, the cockpit, and the spaced greeblies all give this ship a cool effect. It looks perfectlly like a space freighter. It just explodes with personality. Everything else has already been said by (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

*faints* Man, I wish I could do things half as good as this! Anyways, I have to find my camera first! I have a few models begging to be photographed... Anyways, GREAT job, greebling especially! ~Andrew~ (...) (22 years ago, 1-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Hey! Nice stuff Allister! This guy really looks like he's full of playability, as well as having great industrial lines. It reminds me a little of the design esthetic used for Alien...I think it's the slopes w/downward thruster arrangement. Cool. (...) (22 years ago, 3-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Niice. It has a bit of an Original Trilogy Star-Warsy look, with all the angles. Nice use of that canopy. Jeff J (22 years ago, 6-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)
