Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Jason Allemann
Hey guys, Check out my recent MOC of the hyperdrive booster ring used by the Jedi Starfighter in Attack of the Clones. It took a few days to get right (a few hours a day) but in the end I think it's fairly accurate to the movie. (URL) me know what (...)         Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Wow! Very nicely done indeed. I see the problems with not having a lot of parts available in dark red, though--but I like the effect of interspersed use. One question, though: Is the size differential ring:fighter correct? For some reason I (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Jason Allemann
Thanks for the feedback Lindsay. I'm not sure if it's accurate in terms of size. It was done primarily from memory (and I've only seen AOTC once) and a vague picture I managed to find online. Technical details on the booster ring seem to be lacking (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Richard Parsons
(...) Dunno Lindsay, I've seen the pic a few times, and if its not the right size, its certainly close. Endlessly impressed Jason. When I saw it in the movie I recall thinking, 'My, that's going to be a bugger to model', and yet, there it is on your (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Mark Haddock
(...) I would say the proportions are about right, though I think the ship was actually held in place at the very front of the ship rather than in the middle (however that would put it off balance .. so I think it works like it is..) I like the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Richard Parsons
(...) This wouldn't be the first Lego model to have the problem though. Always used to peeve me too. (...) Mmmmmm. They were supposed to have been landed and disembarked from one of the great big (wedge shaped) starships you see at the end of the (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Michael Dallaston
(...) Yeah, those big, wedge shaped ships... looked familiar... **Hums Imperial tune** Oh, and in deference to the original post, very very cool model Jason, looks just like the thirty seconds of it I remember from the film. Gotta love the NASA (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Gil Shaw
Wow. Very impressive indeed...the shape and strength of the ring, the accuracy (although I've only seen the flick once) and the outstanding mating of the stock starfighter. The clamps are just click-joints and small quarter winglets I suppose? Also, (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Jason Allemann

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Jason Allemann
lol, we don't have concrete plans for a new movie yet (lot's of ideas though) so don't get your hopes up. :) (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Kenneth Wright
(...) <snip> Luckily I can type while my mouth is wide open in awe. The design and construction are absolutely terrific! The fact that you perfected the circular shape AND the capacity to hold the Jedi Starfighter (set #7143) are incredible. I (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —David Brandes
Perfection. That is the only proper description for this. Have you thought of selling the idea to LEGO? Dave. (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Jason Allemann
(...) That's quite the complement. I'd give it some thought if they were interested but what are the chances of that happening? :) Jason (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Custom Hyperdrive Booster Ring —Bob Parker
